- First law of thermodynamics does not tell anything about the direction of energy flow
- First law of thermodynamics does not tell about the probability of the process happening
- First law of thermodynamics does not tell anything about the spontaneity of the process
- First law of thermodynamics assumes all the processes to be reversible [Only through the second law of thermodynamics and the concept of entropy do we come to understand that, no real process in nature is reversible]
- First law of thermodynamics does not consider 'time' [Only through the law of increase of entropy the concept of time comes into the picture]
- Everything in the universe moves from 'order to disorder' according to the 'increase of entropy principle' which comes from the second law of thermodynamics.
