I would like to use electric immersion elements like the ones used in residential hot water heaters to maintain the temperature of water at 100° C in a stainless steel container (photo attached). The base of the container is 72 by 40 cm, and the depth of the water would be approximately 14 cm, giving a volume of about 40 litres. The ambient temperature in the room is 16°c. My question is: how many watts are needed from the immersion elements?
