What is fluid?
Fluid is a phase of the substance that continuously deforms even when a negligible amount of shear stress is applied to it.
What is the difference between solids and fluid?
Contrary to fluids, solids resist the applied shear stress and they also deform but they do not deform continuously and they do not deform under small stress values.
What are examples of fluids?
Fluids are mainly divided into liquids and gases.
Liquids take the shape of the container they are poured in and form a free surface at the top. Whereas the gases neither take shape of the container nor form a free surface because the intermolecular attraction is the least compared to its solid and liquid phase.
