Ans: The solution to the heat transfer equation in the case of convection from the fin tip is very complex. Hence usually a corrected fin length is calculated and simple heat transfer formula of the insulated fin tip case is used by replacing the length of fin 'L' with the corrected fin length 'Lc' in the heat transfer formula.
