Why fiber glass has low thermal conductivity?

Answer:

In the fiberglass material, the air is trapped in the gap between the solid material.

The thermal conductivity, K of air is way lower than solid material. The trapped air reduces the overall thermal conductivity of the fiberglass and hence it acts as insulating material.
