Why Cp
Why can we use specific heat capacity at constant pressure to calculate work into the compressor? Eg Brayton cycle:
W_1-2 = mCp(T2 - T1)
This always confuses me as it is not a constant pressure process!
Help :(

It is an open system and to account for flow work we use Cp while calculating work.(enthalpy change)
In open systems Cv is used to calculate u2-u1.
Sometimes Thermodynamics is notorious, we just have to accept it and move on. :)
