Does conduction only take place in solids?

Ans: Conduction heat transfer can occur in all phases of a substance provided that there is no bulk motion (there is no movement of the substance).

The conduction heat transfer is common in solids.

When liquids and gases are trapped inside a cavity and there is no bulk motion involved the only way through which conduction heat transfer may take place is conduction.
